Why is Americas health care system the worst of all developed nations?

Don't make the argument it is great by comparing it to a third world nation. Compare it to other nations in the same league.


The one thing most people can definitely afford in America is death.





You have the right to die but not to live. The right to live is only for those that can afford it.


How pathetic|||Healthcare in the USA is not that bad, but it certainly has its flaws.



The big problem for the healthcare in the USA is GREED - very few hospitals are run/owned by the government. If you have the money, then you will receive some the best healthcare in the World, along with some of the best MDs in the World because the high wages.



If the health companies (hospitals, insurers, etc) number 1 goal was having a duty to provide affordable, and excellent healthcare, and treating shareholders/shareprices as a secondary concern, then that would solve a lot of the problems (not all).



In the UK and France, they have "socialised medicine" as you Americans call it, that means the government owns/runs the majority of Hospitals etc. This is generally funded by a separate tax called National Insurance, where you and your employer pay a percentage of your wage to the government. This tax covers pension, benefits, medical treatment, etc. As a result, if you are ill, and have to be hospitalised, or require an ambulance, you will never receive a bill for it.



In the UK, as part of "socialised medicine" you can have IVF, Sex Change, Dentistry and more at no extra cost...



This can only happen where countries have put the health of their citizens first, instead of corporatism. I am not saying socialised medicine is the cure, or is the most amazing, or efficient system in the World (far from it), but it does do what it's meant to do.|||The health system is by far not that bad as your simple mind defines. The problems will come when the absurd socialistic and unsustainable new system is implemented. You will see that then there will be no place for feeble minded people.|||Our health care is not the worst - people with absolutely no money are taken care of by the government - what supports your statement that ours is the worst? -----------------
