Don't mean this question to appear to have any racial overtones, but I Have seen in my little southern community mainly American born females suddenly wearing Muslim Dress and professing Muslim Religion , who have absolutely no Family ties to Arabic nations, or I suspect no previous Muslim faith.
Why this sudden turn to Muslims and away from Christian beliefs.
Is it a true found Muslim Faith for them or a search for a new found Identity that they could not attain with their American Families?|||I guess...since im not an Arab...i'm not a muslim? loool.
Its a religion...its the second biggest religion in the world...arabs don't make up that type of population.|||Uhhhh, well for the most part, it's black americans in general that become muslims. Yes, sometimes white women marry a Muslim man in the states because it's ok for the Muslim men to take a Christian wife. But never a Jewish woman. OR for a Muslim woman to marry outside of her faith.
It might also have something to do with how if you marry into a certain religion (like with many in the Jewish faith or otherwise) the woman is expected to convert or marriage can not happen. OR at the least, the kids must be raised in the husband's faith.
Who knows otherwise why people are allured into religions from another... they probably find or identify with something they view as the absolute truth I suppose?|||I've suspected for a long time that certain individuals are born with a propensity to be followers who need structure and something to believe in strongly. Some Americans who may not be finding religious ritual such as fundamentalist Christianity to be strong enough for them may be turning to Islam because it seems so strict, what with the highly-concealing dress that you mentioned as "Muslim dress."
This propensity for structure and stricture may also explain why Islam is currently one of the fastest-growing religions. To me, it's the same explanation for why Nazism or any number of other historical authoritarian movements took hold so profoundly.|||here is a historical fact about my religion, Islam. When the people(who hates islam) wants to fight Islam by every weapon they have. Islam spread faster !! They said it spread by wars which is clearly not true. Thousands of people convert to Islam every day by their choice and not by wars. They said Islam insult women but the majority of the new converters are Women !!!|||Because they want to kill Americans and blow up planes too. Americans that want to be muslims dont see why terrorists get to have all the fun.|||Who said only muslim people can be Arabic?
Can only Buddhist people be Indian?|||If only Arabs could be Muslim then it would be one of the smallest religions in the world. People have a right to any religion they choose.|||So they can escape death by jihad|||there is a probability that this person asks this type of question to make people do the same. remember it's not religion that counts the most but the manners and personality of the person itself. i'm not trying to look down on muslims, but honestly, there are lots and lots of "muslims" who do stuff forbidden in their religion when they're hidden from the public eye. but what i dislike the most is that they try to show other people they're "clean" and "religious" when it's not always the case, especially arabs. another thing wrong in islam is that the religion is not entirely known by most mulims, when you come to see the REAL islam, you'll be disgusted. and for saying that islam is the only religion that has not been forged or changed, well hello! it's controled by selfish, complicate personality religious "muslim" men. and they try to pass this idea to other muslims who don't know their religion fully, by pretending that it's in their religion and they know better and try to help muslims. it's absolutely disgusting. with these various types of people i can hardly believe there is still a religion on earth that has not been influenced by humans own desire (which is mostly not pure).
