Should the UN get representatives of all nations to vote on a global moral code to replace religions?

We can call this moral code ‘The GMC.’ It’s a catchy acronym, don’t you think so? I can you picture a judge saying, “For committing crimes in violation of the GMC, I hereby sentence you to be incarcerated with no possibility of parole…for life!”|||First of all the U.N. is useless and should be abolished, and No religion is not just about morals. No one can take God away from me.|||I doubt that anyone would be able reach a consensus. Besides, with the number of Muslim countries voting, would you really feel comfortable with those morals being imposed on you? I think I'd rather just stick with the secular West.

With the rise of education globally, other countries will follow suit quickly so don't you worry.|||We already have local and national laws and the Geneva Convention. Any laws that religions have over and above those are supposed to be what a particular god commanded for his people and aren't necessary for a civilized society.

Seems rather pointless.|||Don't you mean "GMAC" - General Motors Acceptance Corporation?

It would be more reflective of the type of morality you'd get from representatives of all nations, and would have the added feature of being as bankrupt as they are lol.|||Greta idea. If only it stood a rats chance of working. There should be a moral code to replace religion but you would have to get it past all the leading nations that are run by religious people. Tricky. Nice thinking though.|||You couldn't do it, far too many people have completely differing moral codes, you'd have to include things like you can't take baths, only showers, and no society's morals agree completely.|||A world designated religion that becomes a theocracy. If it actually happened, you would hate it.|||What for? Most nations, including the USA ignore anything the UN says.

How do you propose to force people to give up their religions?
